History of the Advent Calendar


Gerhard Lang, a printer in the firm Reichhold & Lang of Munich, printed the first know Advent Calendar in 1908.

After World War II, Richard Sellmer of Stuttgart resurrected the practice of printing Advent calendars, and he is largely responsible for their widespread popularity (more than 1 million sold each year).
